Horse's Name: Trenton Gender: Stallion Breed: Swedish Warmblood Age: 4 Color: Bay Discipline(s): Eventing (prospect) Description: Trenton is a young Stallion who has a lot of potential to be successful in the eventing discipline. Of course, he is still extremely young and is only currently broken in under saddle. He has been jumped a few times at the extremely small level, and has gone through a bit of dressage training as well. Right now he just needs to be taught the basics of eventing, and the main goal for him is to get him ready to perform at the most basic level of eventing. Trenton has an extremely sweet and loving personality, and he really loves humans. He can though, sometimes become stubborn and he likes to think that he knows all, but he is never vicious and he would never purposely harm a human.

Phase One
Alexander patted the bay horse one more time before packing up the grooming equipment somewhat and undoing the cross-ties. He was training the young bay horse for a friend of his and was looking forward to working with the youngster. He grabbed the reins and walked to the arena. He was going to school him in a bit of eventing so Alex decided to start with some beginner dressage. They went straight to the arena and he sighed with relief when he realized that there was no one there. Together they walked inside. After a glance around to make sure that there was nothing to spook the gentle horse he swung his leg over the saddle. Once in though he adjusted the stirrups to his tall hight. Once again Alex had forgotten to well joked about fact that he towered on Mike who was the friend he was training Trenton for. Once everything was in place they set off at a brisk walk. The horses gait was pleasant with lots of natural swing to it but when they moved up to trot he found him self in a rather uncomfortable position. The horse jolted him up with every stride and it was obvious considering that Trenton's ears were threatening to glue themselves to his head that the bay stallion was not enjoying himself either. So Alex settled deep into his seat and asked for a slight extension. Trenton threw up his head but responded well and they went around a few times with an amazing extended trot. He thought hard for a moment and the beginner dressage test that he had studied a while ago came back to him along with a sudden rush of energy. He walked back to the gate started.
Trot in. Halt at X & salute. Trot right. Go down the long side. Twenty-meter Circle Pick up the canter. Canter twenty-meter circle. Come back to trot. Trot back to X. Salute and exit ring.
He started out at a nice sitting trot. Luckily for his butt Trenton retained some of the leftover smoothness from the extended trot from before and they halted at X. He saluted to the imaginary judge and trotted down to C and turned right. He went all the way to almost A before Trenton took a small trip. Alex grabbed the bucking strap on the brown leather all-purpose saddle and pulled softly on the reins. He regained his balance but seemed a bit unsteady so they did an extra twenty-meter circle before cantering. His canter was not as floaty as War's but it had a very rocking horse feel to it. They cantered a circle before trotting back to X and saluting the 'judge' again. He then repeated the exercise to the opposite direction. Good boy he murmured as he patted the sweaty neck. They walked at a slow walk before going on a small walk to cool out.

Phase Two
A symphony of nickers filled the hallowed rafters of the huge stallion barn as Alex walked up the aisle. He finally got to his first destination which was Diablo's stall. The nearly 16 hand thoroughbred turned and kicked the stall door. Something rattled and yet Alex walked in without a grimace. Once the door had closed behind him he inspected it. The metal plating that he had asked the grooms to put in while he took the horse for a good lunge and some work under saddle had held up well and the young man was pleased with the results. There was no dents or scratches in the stainless titanium-like steel and the door was as good as new. For that matter the door was new. With a gentle pat, he poured the sweet feed into the bowl and walked out. Second destination was War's stall and as he walked in War himself came galloping in from the adjoining pasture. No matter how much he loved Diablo, the dapple-gray stallion always came first in his heart. Good boy he muttered softly as he poured out the other ration of sweet feed. He gave the huge horse a huge and walked out.
Finally he got the the last stall in the isle. Inside the deep bay warmblood rattled his feed trough noisily. Soon boy. Very soon. First you need your little workout. He walked Trenton into the cross-ties and started grooming his spotless coat. A small amount of dust flew into the air and both Alex and Trenton sneezed at the same time. The boy laugh as he walked to the tack room. Once inside he selected the jumping saddle and bridle, jumping boots and a couple sugar cubes and walked back out. Then proceeding to tack the young horse up. They had no problems until it came to the girth. He bloated out but Alex nudged him in the tummy and he exhaled with a sigh. The girth was on and then the bridle had gone over his head and in his mouth before the equine even realized it. They walked out together into the cool, covered arena. Alex had come out at about seven in the morning and designed a course with the help of Lark that would be challenging for a horse of Trenton's capability. It started with a circle of four very small jumps that would warm him up and help him to bend. Then there was a full course that went from about 18" to almost 2'. He smiled, it should be fun. Swinging up onto Trenton he was glad to notice that no one had messed with the stirrups. They went around at a slow walk to warm up at first.
The rain started to pitter-patter outside the arenas roof but Trenton only spooked a bit at the beginning and continued on as if he couldn't even hear it. They aimed at one of the jumps and he shifted to a quick paced trot. They came at it rather fast and were about to take off before Alex made the mistake of looking down and tugging on the reins by accident. Trenton stopped all of a sudden and sent Alex flying. In midair he curled up into a little ball and rolled once he hit the dry earth. There he lay for the moment, making sure all his limbs were intact before standing up. But by then Trenton, who had been freaked by the sight of his rider sprouting wings practically, had begin to gallop madly around the small arena. He slowed to a floating canter and proceeded to jump on of the 2' jumps on the side of the arena. His free jump was next to perfect with his legs tucked up, his neck arched slightly and his back legs clearing it with ease. He then turned his attention to the boy and trotted on over. Alex shook his head half-heartedly and swung back up. They cleared the small jump that had caused all the trouble before and then moved right into a floating canter. Together they went up to the nearly two-footer and cleared it. Together the really did clear the two-footer. Alone they could have done it but together they did it beautifully. After a quick cool out they went back, untacked and returned to their busy lives
